How to knit a bubble like textured stitch with simple increase and decrease
With simple increase and decrease of stitches, you can knit a textured stitch that looks like a bubble stitch. You can adjust the size of the bubble depending on how many stitches and rows to knit.
For the increase, I use knit front and back (kfb), and decrease is by knit 2 together (k2tog). You can try different increase and decrease stitches to create a slightly different look.
I use 6 stitches for each “bubble”, so I cast on multiple of 6. If you want a symmetrical pattern, make sure you cast on odd number of sets of 6. For example, 18 stitches (3 sets of 6) make a symmetrical pattern and 12 stitches (2 sets of 6) do not.
It is a great textured stitch motif for a blanket, throw, or scarf. Reduce the stitches and rows to make smaller bubble.
