Machine knitting for a half milano stitch with no rolled edges
How to do a Half Milano Stitch in a knitting machine with a ribber?
Half Milano stitch creates a ribbed left and right edge with plain stockinette stitch in the middle. It creates a non-rolling edge for the plain knitting. You will need a ribber matching your flatbed knitter either in bulky or standard gauge.
The process is very simple. You start with regular 1 x 1 ribbing cast on, transfer the middle part (plain stitch) to the knitter bed, and set the carriage on the ribber to partial knitting in one direction. That is it. After knitting enough rows, transfer all needles to the knitter and bind off.
Here is a video showing how I do it. I use my Brother bulky machine KR260 and ribber KH260.
