Machine knitting one hour scarf with Fisherman's Rib (tutorial)

Here is a simple, thick, reversible and classic looking scarf you can make in an hour with a knitting machine and ribber. Great for gift knitting. I use a Brother KH260 with ribber and worsted weight yarn. It will work the same with a standard gauge knitting machine with a ribber. Just use a thinner yarn, cast on more stitches, knit more rows, and use a different tension. Make a swatch first to calculate the size you like.

I started with 1 x 1 ribbing, changed to Fisherman's rib, and ended with 1 x 1 ribbing. After knitting some waste yarn and taking off the machine, I finished the bind off by hand. I use ribbing bind off, but you can use any types of hand knitting bind off or sewn bind off.

I used 1.5 ball of the Lion Brand New Basic yarn. They are so soft and contains some wool. The downside is it breaks easily because it is super soft. I have 260 rows of Fisherman's Rib in tension 7, and 30 stitches cast on. It makes about 47 inches x 7 inches scarf. Will probably make it longer next time for double wrapping around the neck.

Here is the video/ slideshow of the tutorial. You are welcome to leave a comment or ask questions. I will try my best to respond. Happy knitting!
