Ba Zi and Zi Wei Dou Shu
Both Ba Zi and Zi Wei Dou Shu are 2 popular systems for Chinese fortune-telling. A chart is generated according to a person’s birth year, month, day, and time. Certain star combinations create good luck and some combinations indicate bad luck. Good luck and bad luck are relative and not absolute.
In many areas of Chinese culture, consulting a Ba Zi expert and selecting a lucky time for the birth of a C-section baby is common.
Nature birth vs. C-section
We do not recommend getting a C-section just for the lucky birth chart of the baby. Nature birth is always the best and the doctor’s opinion is important too.
Sometimes a C-section is recommended because of a previous delivery issue or mother’s health concern. In that case, we can consult with a Ba Zi expert and pick several lucky birth charts for the baby.
Basic rules for selecting a C-section
The range of dates should be close to the due date, or the time frame recommended by the gynecologist. Within a week of the due date is a reasonable range to pick a lucky birth chart.
The day and time should be compatible with the birth year, parent’s birth chart (at least the animal sign), other siblings, and many other factors. (see charts below)
The five-element is also important in the chart. Try to avoid extremes such as all fire or all water. The birth season also has the corresponding five-element. That is another consideration.
There is no perfect birth chart and many factors can influence a person’s luck. We can all take actions, work toward our goals, and create our own luck.
