The Chinese Zodiac Wheel
The 12 animal signs always follow the same order, and the zodiac wheel below shows the basic relationships, including the opposite animal sign (180 degrees), 60, 90, and 120-degree signs. This is similar to western astrology.

The 12 Stars from the Traditional Chinese calendar
Here are the names of the 12 stars and the direct translation. The 4 auspicious stars include Tai Yang, Tai Yin, Long De, and Fu De.
This chart below shows the 12 animal signs and their related stars in the 2021 year of the Ox.
Animal sign and birth year
Most of us know the animal sign based on the lunar year. For the purpose of fortune-telling and Feng Shui, the beginning of the lunar year starts with “Li Chun” or the “Start of the Spring”. This is one of the 24 solar terms in the lunar calendar. The “Li Chun” date is typically around February 4th or 5th on a western calendar. So, if your birthday is before that date, your animal sign is the same as the previous year. For example, if your birthday is in January 2020, your animal sign is Pig and not Rat. If your birthday is February 4th or 5th, it is better to check the actual lunar calendar to find the “Li Chun” date of the year. There are a lot of online apps or calculators you can search for. It makes the process much easier with the use of technology.
