How to attract helpful people (Gui Ren) and positive relationships by your birth year

In Feng Shui and Chinese fortune-telling, there is a term called “Gui Ren”. It can be translated as Noblemen or helpful people. These are the people who give you direct or indirect help when you need it. They show up at the right place and the right time to solve your problems. These are the people we want to attract in life.

On the other hand, there is a term called “Xiao Ren”. It literally means “little people”. They like to gossip behind you and cause all kinds of trouble. If we can enhance our relationship luck, attract positive people, we can also reduce the number of “Xiao Ren” in our life.

The first method is to enhance general relationships and reduce the enemy by your animal sign. The second method is to find your lucky Nobleman direction based on your birth year (Heavenly stems) and activate your “helpful people luck” with lucky items.

Method one: Activate your relationship, social, and romance luck with your animal sign

The first method is based on your animal sign (or the 12 Earthly branches). If you are not sure about your Chinese animal sign, you can google and research online. For Chinese feng shui and fortune-telling purposes, the first day of the year starts from “Li Chun” (Start of Spring, one of the 24 Solar Terms) on the lunar calendar. It often falls on February 4th or 5th of the western calendar. So that is the beginning of a new year and new animal sign.

For example, if your birthday is in January, your animal sign belongs to the previous year. The animal sign will be different from the birthday after February 4th or 5th. If you are not sure, check the lunar calendar first.

Your lucky relationship and romance direction by the animal sign

There are 4 groups of animal signs and directions. See the chart below.

If your animal sign is Tiger, Horse, or Dog, your lucky relationship direction is the East.
If your animal sign is Snake, Rooster, or Ox, your lucky relationship direction is the South.
If your animal sign is Monkey, Rat, or Dragon, your lucky relationship direction is the West.
If your animal sign is the Pig, Rabbit, or Goat, your lucky relationship direction is the North.

To activate your relationship, social, and romance luck, you can place fresh flowers in a vase in your lucky direction. Use red, pink, or purple flowers, and replace them as necessary for a period of time. It can be weeks or months. Do not use white color flower or leave an empty vase there. That is a symbol of an empty relationship. If there is no flower, put away the vase in storage.

The second way is to set up pink or purple color crystals in this direction. They can also bring you relationship luck. This way, you don’t have to worry about replacing flowers all the time.

Method 2: Activate lucky Gui Ren direction

This method of attracting helpful people is based on the 10 heavenly stems of your birth year.

Since there are 10 numbers, it corresponds to the last digit of your western birth year. See the charts below.

There are 5 charts total to find your lucky Gui Ren directions. Each chart has 2 directions based on the 24 mountains (24 directions).

Each of the 8 major directions is divided into 3 directions. For example, South has South 1, South 2, and South 3.

Chart 1

Chart number 1 is for people born in the Jia, Wu, or Geng year, or the last digit of birth year 0, 4, or 8. Your lucky Gui Ren directions are Northeast 1 and Southwest 1.

If you were born in Chinese year Yi or Ji, (the last digit of the Western year is 5 or 9), your lucky helpful people directions are -

North 2 and

Southwest 3.

Chart 3

If you were born in Chinese year Bing or Ding (Western year last digit 6 or 7), your lucky Gui Ren directions are-

West 2 and

Northwest 3.

Chart 4

If you were born in Chinese year Ren or Kui (western year last digit 2 or 3), your lucky Gui Ren directions are -

Southeast 3 and

East 2.

Chart 5

If your birth year were in the Xin year (western year last digit 1), your lucky Noblemen directions are -

South 2 and Northeast 3.

Lucky items to attract Gui Ren luck

Once you find out your lucky directions, you can place any symbol of a positive relationship here. The 2 traditional items are a clock and a horse statue.

You can place them in one or both of your lucky Gui Ren directions. It is a good idea to use high-quality materials such as metal, porcelain, or jade.

Qi Lin or Chi Lin for attracting helpful people and protect from negative people

One famous Feng Shui cure to enhance Gui Ren luck and protect you from Xiao Ren (negative people) is the Qi Lin. There are many different translations of the name. This animal is supposed to guard against any negative energy or people, so it is effective in warding away Xiao Ren.

A Qi Lin also brings positive energy and good fortune. It can enhance your career luck and attract positive people or Gui Ren. You can display one or a pair of Qi lin on your desk, or carry a small one (such as a key chain) around you for good luck and protection.
