Christmas tree knitting pattern chart and fair isle knitting

Here is a 2 color knitting Christmas tree or forest theme chart. It can be turned upside down and the negative space becomes the tree too.

It is easier to knit fair isle knitting or color knitting in the round because every row is knitted from the outside. When we read the chart, it reads from the right stitch for every row. If you knit it flat or back and forth, the back side of the stitches should be the purl stitch and follow the chart from the left to right. For flated piece, knit in circle first and and steek an cut to open. It is actually easier this way.

You can use this pattern to make a pillowcase, or a neck cowl if you pick the right stitches to cast on.

The tricky part is the tension and the back float. If the back float becomes too long, cross the 2 color yarns in the back so the yarns get caught and the length of the float is reduced.

The repeat is outlined in red. Ignore the numbers. I should start 1 from the right bottom corner.
