How to hand knit a hat for a 4-5 years old kid with worsted yarn

Here is a simple and quick to knit project for a little boy or girl. It uses worsted weight yarn and a circular needle. You can finish in 1 or 2 days.

It has a simple checker board pattern with only knit and purl stitches. You can adjust the size by increase or decrease multiple of the 8 stitches. Increase the rows after the pattern can make the hat deeper.
