Simple linen stitch hand knit scarf

The linen stitch is actually very easy to knit, and produce an interesting fabric. The knit side looks like a woven fabric and the purl side looks like moss or seed stitch.

Here is the linen stitch instruction:

CO: any even number of stitches

Row 1: (K1, Slip 1 with yarn in the front)*, repeat * across the row.

Row 2: (P1, Slip 1 with yarn in the back)*, repeat * across the row.

Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 until the end.

That is all.

Below is a video demonstrating the process. This stitch produces a fabric that does not roll like the stockinette stitch, so it is a good choice for a scarf, baby blanket or a throw blanket. The pattern is gender neutral too. Great for men, women, and kids.
