Herbal Bath Soak DIY

bath soak

Here is a simple herbal bath soak you can make at home using common ingredients. Bath soak or bath tea is basically a pouch of salt, herbs, oil to be added in a tub with hot water for a relaxing bath. Depending on the herbs you include, it might have some medicinal function such as warming, invigorating, or muscle relaxing.

Basic Ingredients

The bath soak is pretty flexible in adjusting ingredients. Basically, you need some type of salt. Epson salt is the most common one but you can also add coarse sea salt or pink salt. They all have different nutrients that can nourish the skin.

Another ingredient I like to add is loose tea and dry herbs. You can use green tea, Oolong tea, white tea or any of your favorite tea. Add herbs such as ginger, mint, flower petal or fruit peels for extra fragrance and function.

Some people like to add oils and essential oils. Common choices include coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil and so on. Drops of essential oils are optional. Be careful with the doses of the essential oil if you have sensitive skin or if it is for little kids. Make sure to dilute with base oil first.

Just mix all ingredients in a clean bowl and scoop into a glass jar. Add the label and now you have a beautiful DIY present for relaxation and self-care.
